The past year felt like standing right in the middle of a crossroads. It was so clear—almost like my own self was laying it all out for me. “This is where you’ve been. This is where you could go. Just a glimpse of the possibilities.”
On one side was the familiar—the comfort zones that make me feel safe. These are filled with countless things that won’t take me too far, energies that pull me deep into the abyss. It’s a cycle of repeatable patterns, frustrated hopes that something will change, again and again. But, as I said, it’s also sweet, safe, and comforting.
And then there was the other side! The version of myself that makes my heart sing, that keeps me awake at night with gratitude and sometimes shivering in fear of the unknown. This version loves and trusts me more and more, taking care of me because, at the end of the day, I’m all I’ve got.
Too often in my life, I’ve struggled between what’s considered “normal” and what’s extraordinary—fighting against the norms I grew up with. It’s more about integrating my true self into who I am, loving and accepting all parts of me.
I’ve been pondering some big questions:
- What does love truly look like?
- Where is my purpose?
- How can I best serve life, people, society, and community?
- How can I be the best version of myself?
- How can I forgive?
- How can I transcend fear, disappointment, jealousy, anger, and self-doubt?
- Why do I still play it small?
Insights I’ve Gained
Here are some insights I’ve gathered along the way:
- We want to move forward; we pray and cry. But are we ready to do whatever it takes? What are we willing to sacrifice?
- We often fear losing our comfort zones and embracing our uniqueness.
- It’s essential to reassess our support system. Sometimes friends and family unintentionally hold us back—they just don’t know better.
- Never second-guess yourself.
- Don’t play it small.
- Always take risks. It’s not about money; it’s about trusting yourself.
- Heart connections are the most important.
- Aesthetics matter; courtesy is precious; sharing is priceless.
- Taking the plunge into the unknown territory of the heart reveals our purity.
- Saying “Thank you” and moving on is essential.
- Save your energy by identifying how you lose it.
- Stop caring about others’ opinions. Those who like you will do so regardless—they see something in you that reflects a part of themselves. Nothing is personal.
- Everything is possible! Every moment is an opportunity to create the next phase of your life.
- Practice mindfulness.
- Cut the cords—that’s how you leave the shore behind.
I felt the need to share this today. Wishing you nothing but love.
This reflection is also dedicated to all the souls who have held me up—those who saw me, felt me, protected me, held space for me, gave me a chance, and shared hugs with me. Some are far away; some are close by. Your support has been priceless.Grateful always!
